Top 5 Maps and Navigation Apps Performance in Ghana Q2 2022

In the second quarter of 2022, Ghana's top 5 Maps and Navigation applications showcased diverse performance trends. Below, we explore the weekly downloads and active users for each app, using data from both iOS and Android platforms.

Yango — different from a taxi saw a significant increase in weekly downloads, starting at 13.9K in late March and peaking at 56.8K by the end of June. Active users also grew, beginning with 51.5K and reaching 109.2K by the end of the quarter.

Bolt: Request a Ride experienced a more fluctuating trend. Weekly downloads started at 25.5K in late March, fluctuating around the mid-20Ks to low 30Ks, and ending at 27K in late June. The app's active users began at 833K, facing some declines and recoveries, and ended the quarter at approximately 794.5K.

Yango Lite: light taxi app had a steady climb in downloads, starting with a modest 698 in late March and reaching 8.5K by the end of June. Active users followed a similar upward trend, starting at 7.8K and rising to 24.9K by the end of the quarter.

Bolt Driver: Drive & Earn presented a mixed performance. Weekly downloads decreased from 8.5K in late March to 2.6K by the end of June. The number of active users saw a decline from 78.5K in late March to 71.3K by the end of the quarter.

Uber - Request a ride maintained a relatively stable performance. Weekly downloads hovered around the 6K mark, with minor fluctuations, ending at 5.3K in late June. Active users started at 368.5K and saw slight variations, concluding the quarter at approximately 349.6K.
